Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TTC9C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TTC9C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where TTC9C RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TTC9C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, KIRC, and HNSC are the cancer types where TTC9C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
