Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TRPM5 RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TRPM5 data layer compared with 10 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher TRPM5 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TRPM5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM and THYM show a favorable association.

KIRP, COAD, and UCEC are the cancer types where TRPM5 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
