Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TRIM56 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TRIM56’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where TRIM56 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TRIM56 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as UCEC and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, KIRC, and STAD are the cancer types where TRIM56 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
