Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TRIM49B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TRIM49B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where TRIM49B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TRIM49B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA and KIRC are the cancer types where TRIM49B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
