Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TREML5P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TREML5P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where TREML5P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TREML5P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, LUSC, and KIRP are the cancer types where TREML5P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
