Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TRAV8-5 RNA is linked to patient survival in 26 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TRAV8-5 data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher TRAV8-5 RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TRAV8-5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and CESC show a favorable association.

HNSC, CESC, and UVM are the cancer types where TRAV8-5 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
