Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TRAV38-1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 22 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TRAV38-1 data layer compared with 1 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher TRAV38-1 RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TRAV38-1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM and CESC show a favorable association.

SKCM, CESC, and UVM are the cancer types where TRAV38-1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
