Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TPRN RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TPRN’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where TPRN RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TPRN is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, KIRC, and BRCA are the cancer types where TPRN tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
