Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TPGS2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TPGS2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where TPGS2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TPGS2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, HNSC, and BLCA are the cancer types where TPGS2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
