Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TP53 RNA is linked to patient survival in 20 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TP53 data layer compared with 17 for mutation status and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), where higher TP53 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TP53 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as STAD and CESC show a favorable association.
ACC, UCS, and MESO are the cancer types where TP53 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
