Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TOLLIP RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TOLLIP’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where TOLLIP RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TOLLIP is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, KIRP, and LIHC are the cancer types where TOLLIP tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
