Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TNRC6B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TNRC6B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where TNRC6B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TNRC6B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, LIHC, and HNSC are the cancer types where TNRC6B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
