Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TNFRSF21 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TNFRSF21’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where TNFRSF21 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TNFRSF21 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, THCA, and LUSC are the cancer types where TNFRSF21 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
