Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM9B RNA is linked to patient survival in 20 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TMEM9B data layer compared with 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher TMEM9B RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM9B expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as THCA and MESO show a favorable association.
HNSC, UVM, and THCA are the cancer types where TMEM9B RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.

Ranked by sampling consensus. AUC1 and AUC2 indicate survival in the high- and low-expression groups, respectively; the lower AUC marks the poorer-surviving group. p-values are from the log-rank test.
