Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM9B mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TMEM9B data layer compared with 20 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher TMEM9B mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM9B expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and COAD show a favorable association.

HNSC, COAD, and LUAD are the cancer types where TMEM9B mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
