Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM94 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TMEM94’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where TMEM94 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TMEM94 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, KICH, and HNSC are the cancer types where TMEM94 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
