Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM74B RNA is linked to patient survival in 27 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TMEM74B data layer compared with 5 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher TMEM74B RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM74B expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PAAD and READ show a favorable association.
KIRC, ESCA, and KIRP are the cancer types where TMEM74B RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
