Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM39A Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TMEM39A data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), where higher TMEM39A Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM39A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
ESCA, LIHC, and UCEC are the cancer types where TMEM39A Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
