TMEM30B

Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM30B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TMEM30B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where TMEM30B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TMEM30B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, KIRP, and COAD are the cancer types where TMEM30B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
