Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM255A RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TMEM255A data layer compared with 5 for mutation status and 1 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in uveal melanoma (UVM), where higher TMEM255A RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM255A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and BRCA show a favorable association.
UVM, BLCA, and LGG are the cancer types where TMEM255A RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
