Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM244 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TMEM244’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where TMEM244 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TMEM244 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, BRCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where TMEM244 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
