Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM242 RNA is linked to patient survival in 25 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TMEM242 data layer compared with 1 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher TMEM242 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM242 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and SKCM show a favorable association.
HNSC, BLCA, and KIRC are the cancer types where TMEM242 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
