Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM229A Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TMEM229A data layer compared with 18 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), where higher TMEM229A Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM229A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SCLC show a favorable association.
ESCA and SCLC are the cancer types where TMEM229A Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
