Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM196 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TMEM196 data layer compared with 19 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where higher TMEM196 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM196 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
LUAD and LUSC are the cancer types where TMEM196 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
