Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM186 RNA is linked to patient survival in 25 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TMEM186 data layer compared with 6 for mutation status and 2 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in rectum adenocarcinoma (READ), where higher TMEM186 RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM186 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as READ and KIRC show a favorable association.

READ, KIRC, and STAD are the cancer types where TMEM186 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
