TMEM184A

Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM184A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TMEM184A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where TMEM184A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TMEM184A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, THCA, and BLCA are the cancer types where TMEM184A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
