Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM179B Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TMEM179B data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where higher TMEM179B Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM179B expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
UCEC and LIHC are the cancer types where TMEM179B Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
