Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TIMM17B mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TIMM17B data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher TIMM17B mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TIMM17B expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and PDAC show a favorable association.
CCRCC, PDAC, and LSCC are the cancer types where TIMM17B mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
