Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, THAP12P2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of THAP12P2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD), where THAP12P2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types THAP12P2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as HNSC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
PRAD, HNSC, and THCA are the cancer types where THAP12P2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
