Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TFB2M RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TFB2M’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where TFB2M RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TFB2M is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, THCA, and BLCA are the cancer types where TFB2M tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
