Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TEX38 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TEX38’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where TEX38 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TEX38 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, BLCA, and CHOL are the cancer types where TEX38 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
