Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TERT Mutation is linked to patient survival in 7 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TERT data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where higher TERT Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TERT expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.

THCA, PRAD, and SCLC are the cancer types where TERT Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
