Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TCF21 RNA is linked to patient survival in 19 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TCF21 data layer compared with 3 for mutation status and 1 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where higher TCF21 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TCF21 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LIHC and KIRC show a favorable association.
LUSC, KIRP, and LIHC are the cancer types where TCF21 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
