Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TCF21 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TCF21 data layer compared with 19 for mass-spec protein and 3 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), where higher TCF21 mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TCF21 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LSCC show a favorable association.
LSCC are the cancer types where TCF21 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
