Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TBC1D28 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TBC1D28’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where TBC1D28 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TBC1D28 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, HNSC, and LUSC are the cancer types where TBC1D28 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
