Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TBC1D22B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TBC1D22B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where TBC1D22B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TBC1D22B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and READ show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, KICH, and KIRP are the cancer types where TBC1D22B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
