Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TAS2R63P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TAS2R63P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where TAS2R63P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TAS2R63P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, CHOL, and ESCA are the cancer types where TAS2R63P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
