Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TAS2R5 RNA is linked to patient survival in 28 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TAS2R5 data layer compared with 2 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC), where higher TAS2R5 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TAS2R5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCS and HNSC show a favorable association.
CESC, KIRC, and UCS are the cancer types where TAS2R5 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
