Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TAS2R38 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TAS2R38 data layer compared with 20 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where higher TAS2R38 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TAS2R38 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
LUSC, KICH, and UCEC are the cancer types where TAS2R38 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
