Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TAF1L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TAF1L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where TAF1L RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TAF1L is over-expressed in tumor.

COAD, LUAD, and HNSC are the cancer types where TAF1L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
