Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TAF1A RNA is linked to patient survival in 29 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TAF1A data layer compared with 8 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC), where higher TAF1A RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TAF1A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and UCS show a favorable association.
CESC, KIRP, and ACC are the cancer types where TAF1A RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
