Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SYNJ2BP RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SYNJ2BP’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where SYNJ2BP RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SYNJ2BP is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, THCA, and COAD are the cancer types where SYNJ2BP tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
