Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SYCE1L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SYCE1L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where SYCE1L RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SYCE1L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP, THCA, and KIRC are the cancer types where SYCE1L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
