Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, STX1B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of STX1B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where STX1B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types STX1B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, KIRC, and KICH are the cancer types where STX1B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
