Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, STOM Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated STOM data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher STOM Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated STOM expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BLCA show a favorable association.
SKCM and BLCA are the cancer types where STOM Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
