Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SPTLC2 RNA is linked to patient survival in 26 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SPTLC2 data layer compared with 12 for mutation status and 5 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher SPTLC2 RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SPTLC2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and LUSC show a favorable association.

KIRC, ACC, and LUSC are the cancer types where SPTLC2 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
