Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SPTLC1P2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SPTLC1P2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where SPTLC1P2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SPTLC1P2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as ESCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, ESCA, and STAD are the cancer types where SPTLC1P2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
