Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SPHK2 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SPHK2 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), where higher SPHK2 mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SPHK2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PDAC show a favorable association.
GBM, PDAC, and LUAD are the cancer types where SPHK2 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
