Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SPDYE16 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SPDYE16’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where SPDYE16 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SPDYE16 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, KIRC, and THCA are the cancer types where SPDYE16 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
