Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SORT1 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SORT1 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 3 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where higher SORT1 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SORT1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
STAD, UCEC, and LGG are the cancer types where SORT1 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
